Roofing work is quoted as one total with delivery, pickup, and the dump fee in it. Owner-run since 2022.

Every tear-off runs in the 12-yard: 1,000 lbs included, then $50 a ton off the scale ticket. Tell Jeff the squares and layers.

Why a Roof Tear-Off Takes the 12-Yard

Roofing contractors are one of the trades Jeff works with most, and every tear-off goes in the 12-yard. Shingles hit the safe load of the trailer long before they fill a taller dumpster, so the 16-yard isn't offered for them at all. The 43-inch walls help too: pitching shingles over a waist-high wall all day beats lifting them over a five-foot one.

Dumpster Sizes for Roofing Jobs

Roofing means the 12-yard, priced under the heavy material rule. The 16-yard is for bulky, lighter debris and can't take shingles.

Know the size you need? Book it online, or call and Jeff will confirm it with you.

What a Roofing Dumpster Costs

$295 for a day, $325 for three, $375 for the week, all-inclusive with no sales tax. Shingles carry 1,000 pounds included and $50 a ton after, read off the ticket.

For a roofing job, the 12-yard starts at $295 and the 16-yard at $325, all-in with no sales tax. Heavy material (concrete, dirt, shingles, plaster and lath) goes in the 12-yard with 1,000 lbs included, then $50 a ton. Jeff confirms the size and the total on the call.

Shingle Weight by the Square

Architectural shingles run roughly 7 to 8 squares to the ton once felt and nails ride along. A 24-square single-layer strip is therefore about 3 tons: 1,000 lbs included, then $50 a ton on the balance, which is roughly a $100 weight line on top of the rental. A second layer doubles the math, which is why Jeff asks about layers before anything else.

Load shingles flat and keep them level with the 43-inch walls. An over-crowned heavy load can't legally leave the driveway, and shoveling shingles back off a dumpster is nobody's favorite part of roofing.

Sizing a Tear-Off Before You Book

Tell Jeff the squares and the number of layers when you call. A single-layer strip is serious weight before the felt and nails are counted, and a second layer roughly doubles it, so those two numbers are what decide where you land against the included 1,000 pounds.

That conversation is the point of calling rather than booking blind. Jeff has been screening loads this way since 2022 and says he rarely has a weight problem now, which is a result of asking rather than luck.

Roofing Dumpster Questions

What size dumpster do I need for a roof?

The 12-yard, every time. Shingles are too dense for the 16: they hit the trailer's legal weight long before they fill a taller wall. Tell Jeff the squares and layers and he'll tell you where you'll land against the included 1,000 lbs.

How is a shingle load billed?

The normal 12-yard rental rate, $295 to $375 depending on days, plus $50 a ton past the first 1,000 lbs, read straight off the ticket, never estimated.

Can the dumpster sit close to the house for the tear-off?

Usually, and it's worth describing the approach when you call. The 43-inch walls also mean your crew is pitching shingles over waist height, not shoulder height, all day.

Where do you deliver roofing dumpster rental?

Five counties across two states, from Richmond out through Winchester, Connersville, Liberty and into Eaton, Ohio. Roofing Dumpster Rental run off the same Richmond yard as everything else, so being at the edge of the map changes the drive, not the quote. See the full service area.

What does roofing dumpster rental cost?

The same published rates as every job: $295 to $375 on the 12-yard and $325 to $425 on the 16, delivery, pickup and dump fee included. Heavy loads carry the 1,000 lb / $50 a ton rule, stated up front. The pricing page has the detail.

Do you do junk removal, or just dumpsters?

Dumpsters only. Jeff brings the dumpster, you load it at your own pace, he hauls it. There's no loading crew, and the price reflects that: you're paying for the container and the disposal, not labor. For most roofing dumpster rental that's also the cheaper way to do it.
